A Case of Alcoholic Liver Disease

 A 37 year old male came to the OPD with complaints of jaundice since 3 months, with a history of 7 years alcohol intake 360ml/day. History of generalised weakness and yellowish discolouration of sclera, skin and urine 3 months back for which he went to a local hospital and on routine examination was found to be having deranged LFT. Symptomatic treatment was given and the patient was advised to stop alcohol. He improved symptomatically with treatment and the patient continued to take alcohol. He again had similar complaints for which he came to our hospital. History of vomitings since 1 month whenever he consumes alcohol. No history of pain in abdomen, loose stools, pedal edema, abdominal distension/hematemesis. 3 years back history of similar complaints No known case of DM, hypertension, asthma, epilepsy, CAD, TB 3 days back he consumed 90 ml alcohol along with food intake. Note: This is still an ongoing case that will be updated.  A 42 year old female came to the hospital with chief complaints of pedal edema, shortness of breath and decreased urine output since 6 months. HISTORY OF PRESENT ILLNESS:- The patient was apparently asymptomatic 6 months ago and then she developed pedal edema, which was gradual in onset, progressive along with shortness of breath (grade III-IV) along with decreased urine output. She then came to this hospital for further evaluation. HISTORY OF PAST ILLNESS:- She is not a known case of diabetes mellitus, CVA, TB, asthma. She had hypertension since 6 months. A case of a 75 year old male

 I am Varshitha Kalidindi, and this is a case that I have come across in the discussion group, described below:- 75 M k/c/o  HTN and DM  (since 8 years)  came with the complaint of LT sided weakness and deviation of mouth to Rt side.  Patient was apparently asymptomatic till 5 pm yesterday (17/7/21)   • At 5 pm - Could not hold the tea cup with his hands and spilled it all over him. Following which his wife applied lotion over his abdomen and they had dinner and watched TV.   • At 2 am - He called his wife because he couldn't move his Lt UL and he couldn't talk properly and there was deviation of the mouth to the Rt. He could not contain his urine - his wife recollects.
